I'm making the most out of the few days left, before I will head on to a trip this weekend.

Today was a 5km treadmill exercise, steady pace for 1km and then 1 minute walking. This was combined with Takbolts conditioning training, sponsored by our company's running group.

I'm not very sure about the names of the exercises. I just knew it is making me sore right now.

I have to fight laziness. So I packed my workout costume the night before. I still had second thoughts, after my work shift. But I managed to walk straight to the gym. There's no turning back. I'm hoping to get back to the rhythm. I have 12 Sundays left before Angkorwat Marathon in August.

Meanwhile, I am preparing for Milo Dagupan in June. This is to add up excitement; running and travel. We are not yet registered. I hope we get to show up this time.

I Didn't Show Up - Nike Women's Run Manila 2015 (05092015)

Distance: 10km
Pace: 08:00/km
Duration: 1:20:++
Location: CCP, Roxas Boulevard
Buddy: myself

After weeks of love-hate relationship with the road, I didn't show up in this race. It felt very shameful. The decision had been very painful for me. But this was the best I could think of.

Me and my favorite running buddy/friend decided to support our other runner friend in her 50km ultramarathon run. This was the same day as the Nike run, except for the start time of these two events. The ultra started at 4am and ended at noon. While Nike run was to start at 9pm.

However, there was almost a hundred kilometer distance between these two places, and so sleep and rest became a problem for us. I did not consider the resting time, that I later estimated to be just 2 hours. This was not enough, even if we will just run 10km. We have not slept for at least 20 hours; beginning from the preparation to traveling back to the city.

Instead of risking our health, I called for a mission abortion and went home, take a bath and then slept for 9 hours. After which, I returned to the road and get back to training. It was still lousy and lazy, but a lousy and lazy run is better than no run at all.

Thank you stranger for this photo of my lazy run with Rizal Monument and SMDC on back ground

Training 10 Km: Nike Women's Run Manila (05062014)

Core Workout: [3 sets]
60 secs high plank with march
12 reps pendulum for obliques
12 reps leg raise with crunch
20 reps knee crunches
60 secs half plank

No running for this day. It rained, so I went to the gym and focus on core workout instead. Plus I did a quick 10-min jog, some light lifting, and 10 min in the stationary bike. My period is also dragging me to this laziness. I had so many reasons. But what's important is, though it was a lousy workout, I decided to bring my workout clothes and I did showed up in the gym.

As I am logging this workout, Nike Women's Run will be 36 hours from now. My goal is to at least finish within 1:15. That's the fastest I can probably do tomorrow night. Wish me luck.

Training 10 Km: Nike Women's Run Manila (05032014)

Distance: 10km
Pace: 07:24/km
Duration: 1:14:00
Location: Bonifacio Global City
Buddy: favorite running buddy and friend

We're still so lazy. I am struggling in catching my breath. I felt exhausted early at 6km. Though the time is somewhat decent, the after feel is not okay. It is frustrating. But there is nothing that I can do but continue to train until I get the condition that I need for the race.

Running is not something one can cram on and win in the end. It's a long process and perfect example of the saying that "there is no elevator to success, everyone must take the stairs".
